For the "Efficiency" section of our project, we have only taken three examples, namely: Gasoline, Diesel, Hydrogen, and Electricity. Moreover, we also only took two distinct variables to compare the energy efficiency of these fuels:

• Gasoline Gallon Equivalent (GGE)
• Energy Content
• Pump Octane Number

This page contains data for various other fuels and their data with respect to the variables above. Definitions of all the terms have been provided below in this page. All Data has been obtained from The Alternative Fuels Data Center, maintained by The U.S. Department of Energy.

Definitions:

• Gasoline Gallon Equivalent: It is the amount of fuel it takes to equal the energy content of one liquid gallon of gasoline where one gasoline gallon equivalent (GGE) equals 114,300 British thermal units (Btu).
  
• Energy Content: It is the amount of heat produced by the burning of 1 gram of a substance, and is measured in BTU per gram (BTU/g)
• Pump Octane Number: Octane ratings are measures of fuel stability. These ratings are based on the pressure at which a fuel will spontaneously combust (auto-ignite) in a testing engine.
